I purchased this copy from eBay and later cleaned/pressed myself before submitting to CGC. The grade was exactly what I thought it would get based on condition. To my knowledge, due to scarcity, this Turner variant is the only copy with photos in CGC's database. Everything else I've seen was graded around 10 years ago before adding photos (July 2023) was an option.

This limited 250 print run pays tribute to one of the most iconic issues in comic book history with a red foil virgin cover featuring the classic artwork of Michael Turner. Released as an Aspen Comics exclusive, this premium edition celebrates Larry Hama's legendary "Silent Interlude" story, in which Snake Eyes undertakes a daring solo rescue mission in a groundbreaking issue told entirely without dialogue.
Both copies were purchased from the same eBay seller. I literally used an LED magnifying glass, one cotton round and handheld air blower to remove dust particles before submitting to CGC. No heat press was used. I was confident it would get a 9.8 but wasn't expecting a 9.9! Pictured right is the standard white trade dress cover limited to 750 copies.

Fathom #12 - Crossover Holo-Chrome Foil Wraparound Variant Cover (July 2000)

The wraparound cover is a full panoramic illustration by Michael Turner, with inks by Jon Sibal and colors by Peter Steigerwald. This edition uses a Holo-Chrome (holographic foil) treatment over the wraparound artwork. As the comic is tilted under light, the foil produces shifting rainbow reflections across the image. It's one of the most recognizable variants from Michael Turner's original Fathom series. The composition features:

The cover features Todd McFarlane's artwork in a black-and-white sketch presentation, highlighting his pencils and inks without the finished color artwork. The image depicts Spawn in McFarlane's signature style—flowing cape, heavy shadows, and intricate linework—creating a dramatic, high-contrast composition. There are eight McFarlane colored covers that use the same base artwork. The only difference is the comic book Ellie is holding. Each version references a different comic book cover.

No heat press was used as I didn't want to risk damaging the acetate cover. It was close to qualifying as a 9.8 but I'm good with the 9.6 from CGC.
Limited to no more than 5,000 copies. This exclusive Michael Turner acetate cover was unavailable on the original comic. It was created specifically for the Wizard Ace Edition line and bears the branding associated with the series. Inside; the comic reprints the complete first issue of Witchblade rather than introducing new story content. Wizard #63 contained a postcard mailer inside the original polybag sealed packaging that was needed to order this limited print run. I have the magazine too!

This is one of the most recognizable covers of the 90s. Written, penciled, and cover illustrated by Todd McFarlane, it launched Marvel's new Spider-Man ongoing series and the opening chapter of the "Torment" storyline. Spider-Man investigates a series of brutal murders that point to the return of the Lizard, but something is different. The creature has been mystically transformed into a far more savage killer, forcing Spider-Man into one of his darkest and most psychologically intense battles.
The silver version was mass printed and is generally affordable even in a CGC 9.8. Visually, I think the silver edition looks the best against Spider-Man's red suit. Pictured right are the gold and platinum (retailer incentive) editions.
Batman #635 - First Cover Appearance of Red Hood (Feb. 2005)

Batman #635 is widely regarded as a modern key issue based on the storyline narrative written by Judd Winick, which reintroduced Jason Todd to the Batman mythos in his new identity as the Red Hood. Jason Todd is often referred to as the "2nd Robin" while Dick Grayson (Nightwing) was the original or "1st Robin." Ultimate Spider-Man #1 - "Married with Children" Storyline Begins (March 2024)

This is the first issue of Marvel's new Ultimate Universe line, written by Jonathan Hickman with art by Marco Checchetto. Rather than retelling Spider-Man's familiar teenage origin, it imagines a world where Peter Parker was never bitten by the radioactive spider.
The story opens with Peter as an ordinary adult in his mid-30s. He is happily married to Mary Jane Watson, and they have two children, Richard and May. He works a regular job and has a loving family, but can't shake the feeling that something is missing from his life. Peter is approached by a recorded message from Tony Stark, who reveals the truth: Peter was always meant to become Spider-Man. Stark has recovered the genetically altered spider that should have bitten Peter years earlier and offers him the chance to reclaim the life he was supposed to have.
Rather than being transformed by accident as a teenager, this Peter faces a conscious choice as an adult and allows the spider to bite him. Thus, setting him on the path to become Spider-Man for the first time!

It's one of the most recognizable Wolverine comics of the late 1990s because it celebrates the 25th anniversary of his first appearance (in The Incredible Hulk #180–181). The issue concludes a major storyline that began after Magneto tore the adamantium from Wolverine's skeleton years earlier. She reappears with a bold, flirtatious attitude, rekindling her attraction to Spider-Man while getting him tangled up in a series of thefts and mischief. Unlike previous appearances, Felicia seems more interested in Spider-Man than Peter Parker himself, creating romantic tension and forcing Peter to question where he stands with the important women in his life.
Although the iconic cover depicts Spider-Man kissing Black Cat while Mary Jane watches, that scene does not occur in the interior storyline. The cover is symbolic of the romantic tension rather than an actual panel from the comic itself. Titled "Choices," this oversized milestone issue is one of the most recognizable homage covers from Todd McFarlane as it recreates the composition featuring Al Simmons' iconic rooftop pose from Spawn #1 (1992) that many cover artists still reference today.
In my opinion, going with this issue over the first is a safer long-term speculative bet for a few reasons. The population report is much smaller, the cover looks better than the original and it's cheaper. If an updated Spawn movie never happens then you're not out extra money, if it does, being an homage cover Spawn #1 will push #50 prices higher. Pictured right shows issue #1.

The issue explores the fallout from Jim Downing's search for the truth about his past and his connection to The Program. Although Jim wants to move forward, the supernatural influence of the Spawn symbiote (the K7-Leetha) continues to affect everyone around him.
This issue is part of a celebrated run of classic comic cover tributes spanning Spawn issues #221–231, which has become popular with collectors. I think this is the best cover of the entire run. #222 would be my second pick. The homage cover recreates Action Comics #1 (1938) replacing Superman with Spawn in a similar pose. There's also a 1:25 black & white (RI) variant. Pictured right is the incentive version next to the original image.

This issue is historically important because it became the longest-running creator-owned superhero comic series in North American comic book history, surpassing Cerebus's 300-issue milestone. It also marked Greg Capullo's return to Spawn interiors alongside creator Todd McFarlane, with additional writing by Scott Snyder. concludes the "War to 300" storyline that began several issues earlier. Al Simmons (Spawn) has reached a turning point in his long war against both Heaven and Hell. Rather than serving as a pawn in their endless conflict, he attempts to break the entire system.
